Frank Proto has been commissioned to write a series of six works for solo violin by the young virtuoso Eric Bates. The Divertimento No. 1 for Solo Violin was completed in 1998. The second Divertimento was completed in 1999. Divertimento No. 3 was finished in December 2000 and is now available.

The fourth Divertimento is now in production and is scheduled for release in the Summer of 2001.
